Description
Ram and Sita sit enthroned beneath a royal parasol, surrounded by Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna and Hanuman — the Ram Panchayatan, the divine family worshipped together. The oleograph carries the Ravi Varma Press name in the lower margin.
Size: 10 × 14 inches.
An original oleograph from the era of Raja Ravi Varma’s press — colour lithographs printed from stone and varnished to resemble an oil painting, made so that his images could hang in ordinary Indian homes. Please see the photographs for the frame and condition.
