Description
A centrepiece from the golden age of American silver. The shallow bowl rests on the raised arms of a draped classical maiden, who stands on a stepped, engraved base; two cast birds with outstretched wings perch on the rim.
Under the base sit the famous Gorham hallmarks — lion, anchor and G — with STERLING, 166 and E. It was made in 1904, and the bowl is also stamped J. BACHMAN.
A true collector’s piece for a dining table, a console or a silver cabinet. Please see all photographs, including the marks.
